Spraying will start on Monday, August 20 and continue to Monday, September 10 on grounds across Eurobodalla.
A council spokesperson said that the spraying would be done first thing in the morning and the fields closed for up to four hours while the spray dries.
Signage will be used to warn people to stay off the grass and include details of the time, date and the herbicide used, which is called Spearhead. Where onion grass is being targeted for removal a spray called Destiny will be used.
Once the signs are removed the grounds will be ready for use although there might be some harmless discolouration of the grass.
