We have seen on our TV screens the absolute desolation on most of those farms, and hopefully have made a donation to help out with the feeding of their starving livestock.

Well, the CWA ladies have thought of the farmers, who above all else, need to keep their stock alive, and don’t have much money left over for themselves.

So, they are starting a drive to collect toiletries for the farmers and their wives and families. If you have any spare toothpaste, toothbrushes, talc, deodorant, sun screen, shampoo, conditioner, hand creams, etc, (for both men and women) or can buy one or two extra while doing your next shop, please gather them up and ring Maureen Kinross on 4472 1282, so she can arrange pick up or delivery of them. Come on Batemans Bayites, let’s see if we can make a difference for our struggling farmers.

Our regular Gossip Gal columnist, Dawn Simpson is now back home after a wonderful cruise to Papua New Guinea, with an old friend from her early school days.  

From all the photos I have seen, it seems they had a wonderful time.  Of course, why wouldn’t it be a full-on party with Dawn around?

That gentleman from Maloneys Beach, Les Draper, has just been with his lovely wife Lyn, to Queensland to celebrate his 80th birthday. I hope you had a wonderful week of celebrations, Les.

For the folks in Bodalla, Scottish Country dancing classes have started in the Community Hall, on Thursdays from 10am to 12 noon. I think these free classes have been sponsored by the Eurobodalla Shire Council, to encourage people to get out and exercise. Beginners are most welcome.

Pam Scott-Child from Lilli Pilli has just returned from an extended holiday to the UK to visit her daughter and family.  While there, Pam celebrated another birthday, and the family spoiled her by giving her breakfast in bed, with another family tradition of cake for breakfast.

Later that afternoon, Pam was taken to the Grand Hotel at Brighton, for a high tea with all her family.
