Organisers this week announced the Batemans Bay concert will be held at Mackay Park on March 23 and will include an iconic Austrian music lineup John Farnham, Daryl Braithwaite, Jon Stevens, Vanessa Amorosi, Thirsty Merc and Dragon.
Promoter Duane McDonald said the team was looking forward to taking these three shows out on the road.
“We had such an incredible response from audiences last season when John Farnham headlined,” McDonald said.
“We really wanted to put on a handful of special shows in 2019 and we are so excited about the lineup – this is what fantastic live music is all about.
“We will be returning to some of our favourite venues with this series of the tour and we look forward to sharing an unforgettable day of music with fans.”
Leading the lineup will be one of the country’s greatest musical talents, John Farnham. Audiences will have the chance to celebrate five decades of great music when Farnham takes to the stage.
His 1986 album Whispering Jack was the first record to sell over a million copies in Australia, with the chart-topping single ‘You’re The Voice’ cementing the honey-toned solo artist as ‘The Voice’ of the country.
A long-time supporter of the Red Hot Summer Tour, Daryl Braithwaite will return for another highly-anticipated performance.
Braithwaite is one of the most recognisable voices on the Australian music scene, with a diverse career that has spanned decades. His anthemic version of ‘The Horses’ is always a crowd pleaser.
For lovers of great music, a concert experience with Jon Stevens is up there with the very best. From his Noiseworks days – and hits such as ‘Welcome To The World’, ‘No Lies’, ‘Touch’ and ‘Hot Chilli Woman’ – to fronting The Dead Daisies and INXS, he has made an indelible impact with his amazing vocals.
His live shows are dynamic, high energy and will keep audiences on their feet.
It has been seven years since Vanessa Amorosi performed as part of the tour and audiences are certainly in for a treat.
It was the breakthrough Top-10 hit ‘Absolutely Everybody’ that made her a household name after holding onto the charts for six weeks.
Considered one of Australia’s most iconic female voices, the festival sees the soulful powerhouse performer return to her live roots.
Thirsty Merc smashed onto the scene in the early 00’s with hits such as ‘Someday, Someday’ and ‘In The Summertime’.
Having recently celebrated their 15-year anniversary with a national tour, the return of Thirsty Merc on the festival circuit will be embraced by audiences.
When it comes to iconic bands, Dragon has a long history with Aussie music fans.
Moving from New Zealand to Australia in the 1970s, the Kiwi-come-Aussie band made an indelible mark and their music captured the hearts of a generation with songs like ‘April Sun in Cuba’, ‘Are You Old Enough’ and ‘Still In Love With You’.
Tickets for the tour are now on sale and are available through Ticketmaster and the Batemans Bay Visitor Centre.
