Her rescue story (yes, it does relate to a storm), combined with her beautiful Facebook picture page, so appealed to us, we knew it was time to welcome a new family member to our home.
After saying goodbye to our cat of 20-and-a-half years last June, we felt we needed time to grieve and cherish Ally’s spirit a little longer.
We also knew one day we would bring another cat into our lives when the time was right. All our previous cats were rescue kittens. The next time it would be an adult cat. In December we heard Storm’s rescue story and the trauma she experienced saving herself and her five kittens after being abandoned. Thanks to concerned people who witnessed her distress and contacted the RSPCA, all six of this precious feline family were saved.
What we love abut our new family member (we call her Stormy) is her approach to life, her strength of character and her confidence. She stridently embraced us and her new home, displaying an enthusiasm for live and an innate calmness which brings joy, wonder and beauty into our lives.
Our experience with adopting has been so rewarding and fulfilling, we encourage others thinking of getting a companion animal to consider one that has been rescued. The RSPCA team does a fantastic job in preparing these animals for adopting.
