Streets and gardens were blanketed in a layer of thick, snow-like hail on July 12 as a low pressure system moved towards the coast.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology, the low is expected to reach the western Tasman Sea on late Thursday.
A shower or two and storms have also been forecast for the South Coast district.
A cold front associated with the low will cross the coast this afternoon and early evening, redeveloping into a low pressure system offshore.
Following the front, a new high pressure system will strengthen over southeastern Australia, promoting widespread morning frost on Friday and the weekend.
On the waters, a gale wind warning has been issued for the Batemans Coast on Friday, July 13.
