Although winter is not traditionally a very colourful time for Australian native plants, the Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Garden is currently lit up by the bright candles of the Banksia spinulosa flowers, which also bring the honeyeaters.

You can take a look at this bright display by joining the free June guided walk at the garden on Sunday, June 3 from 11am. It lasts about an hour.
And, if you are an observant person you will also get glimpses of flowering grevilleas, plus, at this time of year, you may see a lyrebird along one of the creek side paths!
For folk who enthusiastically purchased plants at the Easter plant fair, now is a good time to explore the garden in a less frenzied fashion to discover their plants’ habit and growth.
The walk leaves the breezeway at the Visitor Centre.
Participants are advised to wear comfortable shoes, and bring a hat and any other requirements for personal comfort. The route chosen will be guided by the fitness of the group but can follow the limited mobility path if necessary.
And yes, the garden will be open on Monday, 11 June for the Queen’s Birthday public holiday. Bring your sausages for a picnic at the free barbecues next to the children’s play space.
