The prize, which is in its second year, called on artists under the age of 20 to create a work of art as part of the River of Art Festival.
Overall winners, peoples choice and encouragement award winners were announced on Sunday at the Youth Art Prize exhibition space in Batemans Bays new creative hub, Cultivate Space.
Taking out the top prize in the junior category was Lilli Daly with her self portrait. Madeleine Forner impressed with her colourful bird artwork to win the senior division.
Lilli and Madeleine both took out the Peoples Choice. Lilli also received an encouragement award along with Jordan Hatcher.
River of Art chairperson Robin Scott-Charlton said the prize was a great opportunity to encourage the regions up-and-coming artists to get involved in the festival.
Weve had a bit of a reputation over the years of being Baby Boomers coming to look at Baby Boomers paintings, Ms Scott-Charlton said.
We want to ensure we are getting across to the whole community and that the kids are getting some exposure as well.
The kids are great and their art is beautiful. We want to make sure there are opportunities for them to showcase what they can do.
Speaking at Sundays announcement, Ms Scott-Charlton urged budding artists to just keep creating.
Art is fundamental to being human and I think its so important that the kids keep it going, she said.
