The $220 million initiative is designed to stimulate job creation and investment in regional Australia.
Gilmore MP Ann Sudmalis said 23 projects will be delivered across the Gilmore electorate creating almost 1000 jobs
Minister for Regional Development, Territories and Local Government John McVeigh said the initiative was part of the Coalition Government’s commitment to drive economic growth and job creation in Australia’s regions – backing local businesses, their workers and their families.
“This package will deliver up to 1,000 jobs for the NSW South Coast community from Berry down to Moruya,” Dr McVeigh said.
Ms Sudmalis said more than 60 applications were received for the pilot program.
Projects funded include $2.3 million to Eurobodalla Shire Council to construct a shellfish hatchery and export facility at the Moruya Regional Airport.
Moruya business Off Road Camping Pty Ltd, operating as Ultimate Campers, also received $758,000 to develop curved composite panels and design lightweight campers.
The Friends of Eurobodalla Regional Botanic Gardens secured $660,000 to redevelop its visitor centre, cafe and herbarium.
Eurobodalla Shire Council has $100,000 for a feasibility study of projects and marketing of nature tourism and recreation.
The council also secured $65,000 to recruit a coordinator to boost job opportunities in the health and human services sector.
