Shoalhaven came into the day needing a win to remove themselves from the bottom of the ladder. Their batting performance did them no favours.
The Batemans Bay bowlers ripped through the order, dismissing the visitors for 86 runs from 30.2 overs.
Praveen Varghese was the main threat with the ball, taking 3/23, including the final wicket.
Mick Smart, James Dickinson, and Paul Cull all took two wickets, while veteran Andrew Malcolm chipped in with a wicket of his own.
What should have been an easy run chase for the Bay quickly became a problem, as a middle-order collapse left the home side reeling at 5/48.
Top scorer Praveen Varghese (17) followed not long after to give the visitors some hope, but a partnership between Jamie Prior and Paul Cullen got the home side over the line with one wicket to spare.
