A video released on November 8 shows how a new bridge would intersect with existing roads and a planned new Kings Highway intersection, with traffic lights.
“Today, the concept design and environmental assessment incorporating this feedback is available to view,” a Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson said on November 8.
“The proposed design features an improved Princes and Kings Highway intersection, a new four lane concrete bridge, a three metre share path on the eastern side of the bridge, and an increase in river foreshore space including boating and fishing facilities, car parks and river access for small and large vessels.
“We encourage the Batemans Bay community to continue to provide feedback on the replacement bridge to help shape the final plans.”
You have until Friday, December 8 to comment.
Four drop-in sessions will be held for the community to review the concept design and environmental assessment.
The first will be held on Wednesday, November 15, between 3pm and 6pm at Batemans Bay Community centre.
The next session will be held on Sunday, November 19, between 8am and 1pm at Batemans Bay Corrigans Reserve Sunday market.
The remaining two sessions will be held at the Batemans Bay Village Centre on Thursday, November 23, from 3pm to 5pm and Batemans Bay Community Centre on Saturday, November 25, from 10am to 12pm.
The concept design can also be viewed via a flyover animation available at www.rms.nsw.gov.au/batemansbaybridge
Feedback on the concept design and review of environmental factors is invited until Friday, December 8.
“The Batemans Bay Bridge replacement will deliver on the NSW Government’s promise to improve access to Batemans Bay and the surrounding areas, allow access for larger freight trucks, reduce traffic delays and improve the Kings Highway and Princes Highway intersection,” an RMS spokeswoman said.
The project is funded by a $300 million investment that includes replacing the Nelligen Bridge on the Clyde River.
