Residents woke as their house was being robbed in the night

A house in Lockyersleigh Avenue, Batehaven was broken into between 1am and 3:00am.

The occupants were at home and asleep when a male offender stole cash from a wallet and purse.

He fled when one of the occupants was awoken.

It is believed the offender stole a ladder from an adjoining property to access the home.

He is described as being around 170 to 175 cms tall, of slim build and was wearing a black jacket and red shirt.
