In an encouraging sign for the Eurobodalla’s fresh food producers, the first cargo of ACT-region perishables is due to be flown overseas from Canberra on Wednesday night, August 9.
A spokeswoman for The Canberra Airport said the first cargo load of perishable produce from the Canberra region would be bound direct for Singapore.
She said Pialligo Estate would send bacon and smoked salmon, plus cold climate premium wines and olive oil in time for Singapore’s National Day holiday.
The move signals an opportunity for producers in the wider region, including Eurobodalla producers keen to export.
