Tuross Head Ladies Golf
Tuesday’s game was a single stableford event with 17 players.
Division one winner was – Gail Rogers with 34 points, followed by – Kay McLeod with 33 points.
Division two winner was – Annette Manton with 32 points followed by – Teri Swanbury with 28 points.
In division three it was – Jenny Wark with 34 points, followed by – Di O’Shea also with 34 points.
Nearest the pin on the sixth was won by – Leonie Doolan and the golden hole for division one was a tie between Marie Muriwai & Teri Swanbury.
In division two it was Ann Ware. Balls went to – Marie Muriwai – 31 points. Gayle MacAlpine, Leonie Snodgrass, Ann Ware all with 29 points.
Next week the ladies will play a 4bbb match play Qualifier.
Tuross Head Veterans Golf
On Wednesday 56 starters took advantage of the lovely weather to play in a stroke & putt event.
The winner was – Derek Hoare with a 31 net after a countback from – Errol Soden who also had a 31 net. In third place it was – Neil Watson with a 32 net.
The Bradmans was won by – Patrick McNeil and the Accuracy drive went to – Jeanette Miller. Nearest the pins – fourth – Leonie Snodgrass. Sixth – Derek Hoare. Seventh – Annette Manton & Derek Hoare (in the hole) It certainly was Derek’s day.
Ball or chocolate went to – Steve Swanbury – 32 net. Leonie Snodgrass, Kay McLeod, Teri Swanbury – 34 net. Mike Birks – 35 net. Henry Anderson, Rob McKirdy, Terry Challender, Robin Green – 36 net. Richard Kelly, Bruce Martin, Lance Shadbolt, Des Jackson, Herb Muriwai – 37 net. The putting competition was won by – Birthday boy – Mike Birks with 13 putts.

Tuross Head Men's Golf
Tuross Head Country Club Men’s Golf held the playoff for the Medal of Medals competition on Saturday, July 1.
The winners of the monthly stroke and putt event, played over A, B and C divisions, were eligible to compete for this major award in the final playoff.
This year's winner was Martin Booth who finished with a round of a 67 nett strokes.
The winner of the July A grade medal was Leigh Coloe with a nett 71 strokes beating Dave Bray on a countback.
B grade golfer Jim Wade easily won his division with a fine round of 62 nett with Martin Booth second on 67.
C grade player Paul Pereira won C grade with 68 nett strokes ahead of Stephen Swanbury 69 strokes.
Leigh Coloe had the lowest off the stick score of 73 strokes and Ray Bollard won the Lee Family sponsored Golden Shot award with 1.59 m on the second hole.
Nearest the pins were won by:
A grade golfer Ray Bollard who was closest on the 4th hole with 3.27m.
Mark Haberkorn won the 6th with a very close 0.15m and Dave Bray was best on the 7th with 4.10m.
B grade player Jim Wade won the 4th with 2.18m and he also took home the award for the 6th with 1.29m.
Martin booth won the 7th with 5.20m.
C grade player Michael Hogan was closest on the 4th hole with 1.71m and Derek Hoare won the 6th with 4.10m.
The coming Saturday event is the stableford Scoty round.
The THCC Thursday stableford competition was won by Tony Russell with 39 points ahead of Peter Mostyn 38, Bruce Cleeve and Colin Houghton who both finished on 33 points.
Nearest the pins were won by Michael Kermode on the 4th with 9.3 m. Tony Russell won the 6th with 2.17 m and Ian Wark the 7th with 9.1m.
Catalina Vets Golf
Results for Thursday, June 29. Single Stableford with 47 entrants played on holes 19-27.
A Grade:
1st Michael Donegan (handicap 16) with 20 points
2nd John Buchanan (17) 18 points
B Grade:
John Partridge (31) 20 points
Peter Sammons (31) 19 points
The distribution of balls went to 16 points.
Nearest the East Coast Carts pin on the 25th was John Buchanan in A Grade and John Partridge in B Grade.
On the same day visitors from Mollymook competed against Catalina for the Mollycat Trophy. This is an annual event consisting of two 18-hole rounds.
The first was played at Mollymook earlier this year. The return clash occurred last Thursday.
Average scores determine the winner with Catalina retrieving the trophy from Mollymook with 30.00 points to 26.38 points. Those to excel for Catalina were:
1st Peter Edwards (handicap 21) with 37 points
2nd John Rogan (11) 36 points (ocb)
3rd Ron Carney (26) 36 points
The distribution of balls went to 30 points.
Nearest the East Coast Carts pin on the 7th was Warren Harper and on the 25th Peter Boutcher.
Catalina Ladies Golf
On Wednesday, July 5, Catalina Lady golfers competed in a Stableford event.
Roz Odgers (20) won the A Grade on a countback from Nikki Frank (7) with 34 points and Kathy Roe (18) came third with 32 points.
B Grade was won by Jenny Black (26) on a countback from Patricia Sly (23) with 35 points. Margaret Lyons (28) came third with 34 points.
C Grade was won by Carol Gardner (30) with a lovely score of 43 points. Second was Sandra Keon (35) with 38 points and Nina Poulton (42) came third with 37 points.
Nicki Frank won the nearest to the pin for A Grade with Jackie Hedges B Grade and Helen Hannah C Grade.
Moruya Men’s Golf
The July Medal was played on Saturday with three good scores in A, B, & C grade to win the medals.
A Grade Medal winner was Mick Johnson with 66 nett with Roo Foran runner-up with 73. The gross winner was Mick Johnston with 73.
B Grade winner with nett 69 was Steve Mercer from Chris Tomkins 71 C/B. The gross winner was Laurie Buckle with 85.
The C Grade Medal winner was Ross Fredin with 67 nett from Don Radburn 70 C/B with Franco Munda taking the gross prize with 91.
