Welcome back Dawn, and thanks for leaving your column in my hands.

I reported last week that a busload of local Probus members had gone on a bus trip to Bright. 

I’ve heard a story about one of the ladies falling into a fish pond … and it was the middle of the day, and she hadn’t been drinking!!

It must have been the excitement of catching the trout that made her slip into the pond up to about her waist.

A number of the Friendship Group members had a very pleasant day at Mogo Zoo last weekend.

It was a lovely sunny day, with lots of visitors around, and they were very impressed with the well cared for animals, and the lovely surrounds. 

A big pat on the back must go to Sally Padey and her hard working staff who have made this zoo something to be very proud of, and something definitely not to be missed by all the tourists that flock to our region.  

If you are a local and haven’t been recently, or even at all, it really is worth a trip.

While the Group was there, who was the older lady who was being chatted up, frequently, by a stranger?

Belated birthday wishes to the lovely Julie DeBressac of Batehaven who celebrated her birthday last week.

Today is also Vi Merrett’s birthday. Very best wishes for a great day for you, Vi.

I hope the family will spoil you, as they usually do.

Dianne Webb from Tomakin has recently returned from another cruise to the Islands, with a friend from Sydney.  Dianne is really enjoying her first year of retirement, after a few years of battling with a major health problem, so is making the most of her cruising.

That social butterfly Marj Holman from Surf Beach went to Majors Creek, out of Braidwood, for a very social weekend with her daughter-in-law and the family.

Marj enjoyed a couple of special dinners while she was there.
