Senior computer users welcomed back popular guest speaker Heath Barkley to the last EuroSCUG meeting at Moruya Golf Club.
Heath, former owner of a photographic business in Moruya, took members through the various steps necessary to produce quality images.
After the images are captured, they must be imported from the camera, and backed up. They should then be rated.
Before printing an image, various enhancements can be made. Firstly, the image can be cropped and straightened, if necessary, then sharpened.
Objects which detract from the scene can be removed, and adjustments made for tone and colour. Creative effects can then be applied.
Heath explained that the process involves making adjustments to the whole picture, moving down to smaller details. He answered many interesting questions from members.
At the next meeting, at Moruya Golf Club at 10am on Wednesday. June 7, Mike Clement, Work, Health and Safety Officer for the local council, will speak on ergonomics.
He will illustrate how the body works and show how it can remain in the neutral position while operating computers, thus reducing injury and tiredness. These ergonomic principles can be applied to other activities, such as manual work.
After morning tea, small groups will cover various topics including “Be Your Own Travel Agent”.
