A group of art students has dared to be different at an exhibition held in conjunction with the Eurobodalla River of Art.
Some 40 people, including Grace Paleg’s art students, enjoyed the opening of the Digressionists 2017 Art Exhibition.
Award-winning local artist Grace Paleg teaches art to a group of people who call themselves The Digressionists. Grace teaches her students to “paint what you see”.
“My students are called The Digressionists, as initially they appear to take note of what I teach them, and after a while they digress to their own personal journey and do whatever they like,” Grace said.
Joshua Adam took out the PerfEx Visual Arts Encouragement Award and prize money for his pastel works of still lifes and portraiture.
Joshua, 26, has multiple disabilities and likes to use art to express and challenge himself.
“I’ve been interested in drawing and painting for as long as I can remember and I was thrilled to receive the award,” he said.
