Police have confirmed a man died in the single-vehicle crash after the car left the road and went down a five-metre embankment at about 2.50pm on the Kings Highway, on Thursday, May 4.
Police said the driver, who was travelling east along the highway, was the sole occupant and died at the scene.
A spokesman for NSW Fire and Rescue Batemans Bay said they were called to an accident, where police and paramedics were already in attendance, with a person trapped just before 3pm.
He said the badly damaged car had left the road at a bend near the Misty Mountain Road turnoff.
“We opened up the back of the car to allow access and to determine no passengers were present,” he said.
