Police said a woman who ran a red light and drove on the wrong side of the highway was charged with high-range drink driving at the weekend.
Far South Coast LAC police said the 35-year-old female was observed driving through a red light at the corner of Beach Road and Vesper Street at about 11.45pm on Saturday, March 25.
Police said the woman drove north on the Princes Highway and travelled on the incorrect side of the road before turning into Wharf Road upon Vesper Street.
Officers stopped her in Wharf Road, Surfside, where she returned a positive reading for alcohol.
She was arrested at the scene and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station, where a she returned a second positive reading.
She was charged with high-range PCA and will face Batemans Bay Local Court in the future.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, police have charged an ACT man with low-range drink driving in Batemans Bay on Saturday.
Police said the 24-year-old male driver was stopped for a random breath test on Beach Road at about 11.30pm on March 25 before he returned a positive reading for alcohol.
He was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station where he underwent secondary testing.
He was charged and will appear in Batemans Bay Local Court.
