Come along this evening, March 15, and join in the Bay Theatre Players reading of Egad, The Woman in White at the Playhouse in Gregory Street at 7pm.
Play reading co-ordinator, Tay Mugridge, describes the play as “a laugh-oriented, old-fashioned melodrama”.
“It is wild, fast, and funny, featuring a disreputable, but hilarious villain who dispatches his adversaries with nefarious ease, seals his wife in a madhouse to steal her vast fortune, and battles a wicked countess in one of the most uproarious fight scenes ever staged,” Tay said.
“But, he’s scared of the mysterious ‘Woman in White’ who has escaped from the asylum to seek him out.”
So, please come along and have fun reading abandoned wives, insolent servants, lawyers, hypochondriacs, and manly drawing masters. Any inquiries, please call Tay on 0419 127 679.
Tay also reports on a fantastic turnout for the recent reading of Fantastic Mr Fox by Roald Dahl. She says the gathering was attended by “foxes, rabbits, moles, badgers, rats and weasels who then outwitted the dim-witted farmers, Boggis, Bunce and Bean”.
She added, “we had a great turnout for this, our first youth play reading of the year. Look out for more youth play readings throughout the year.”
