All and sundry are invited to attend the opening of the Corrigans Reserve Inclusive Playground at Batehaven, at 10am on Saturday.
After a campaign from disability lobby group, The Bay Push, the shire’s largest playground was converted so children of all abilities could enjoy it.
The Bay Push spokesman Charles Stuart said he was immensely proud of the work done by everyone involved.
Fencing around the playground was completed during February.
Mr Stuart said he had a lot of enquiries about the fence since the playground’s first stage was finished in December and parents told him it was vital.
“It means carers can relax and also enjoy the barbecue, picnic and playground without fear of the children disappearing,” he said.
A Eurobodalla Shire Council spokeswoman said the public would be joined by representatives of The Bay Push and Variety, national and state MPs Ann Sudmalis and Andrew Constance, and Eurobodalla Shire Mayor Liz Innes.
A barbecue will follow the opening activities.
