We may complain about Facebook invading our privacy but it can also be a great way to track down people or lost property. Gorgeous Sonya, pharmacy assistant at Surf Beach pharmacy was riding her horse in Black Butt Lane and found a group of keys on the ground. The NRMA tag was worn so she couldn't quite make out the number, she tried the Toyota car dealers but they didn't have anyone registered as looking for lost keys (cost to replace approximately $300 just quietly!) So, not one to give up easily, Sonya took a photo and put it on Facebook. Heather from Williams Shoes, spotted the keys and realised they belonged to Lorna Irish who had just moved to the shire. The 6 degrees of separation was complete and a very happy Lorna was reunited with her keys. She has no idea how they found their way to Black Butt Lane!
Happy Birthday to gal about town, Ros Allen who will be celebrating tomorrow in a big way!
Great night at JJ's for visitors from Canowindra, Julie Bridekirk, her daughter Laura and grandson Will Bridekirk.
High Tea at the Bodalla Bakery was so popular, Sharon and her team had to have two sittings. Cheryl Fenton was there, with myself and friend Christine Belcher from Canberra. Highly recommended, so grab a seat and dress up for the monthly high tea girls. We need to support more activities like this in the shire.
Happy birthday to beautiful Leonie Lloyd from Tomakin. Leonie will probably spend the day helping someone else instead of enjoying her birthday because that's the kind of gal she is!
Not only do we live in the lucky country but we live in the lucky shire as well. Batehaven has a new millionaire, having purchased their ticket from the Batehaven Newsagency. The man, who wishes to remain anonymous said; “That's very nice. I'll go have a beer now!” As I say folks, 'always believe something good is going to happen...and it just might!'
Mrs. Farrington-Smyth was also at the High Tea and we noticed her slipping a scone, complete with jam and cream, into her Prada handbag......
