Broulee Dolphins U18s coach Michael Nicoletti has pointed to defence as one of the main focuses for his side in the preseason.
The Dolphins will begin training next week for the 2017 season, and Nicoletti believes building a strong base at the back could prove the difference for the club.
“Defensive structure will be a major pre-season focus for all teams,” he said.
“Attack will flow for teams with a sound defensive structure.”
The strategy is part of a club-wide approach for 2017, with the Dolphins working together to standardise strategies, tactics, and technical language across all teams.
There will be emphasis on terms and plays used with the Brumbies representative squads.
Junior Vice President Jon Brady added that coach education is also high on the agenda at the club.
“This season we are fortunate that every junior team will have a head coach with a minimum Level 1 qualification,” he said.
Broulee Dolphins training will commence next Tuesday and Thursday at Captain Oldrey Park from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.
New players are welcome.
