A Parr for the course

Joshua Parr, Jay Ford, Grant Buckley and Jeff Penza made the fleeting visit to the Moruya Jockey Club to take on the best of the South Coast.

While Buckley the and Penza both raced in the recent Narooma Cup, it is the first time in Moruya for Parr, who has four rides throughout the day.

He said he jumped at the chance when approached by racing journalist, Chris Scholtz, to ride on the day.

“Chris came up to me at Wyong and asked if I would be interested, which I definitely was,” he said.

“For me, it’s an opportunity to try a new track and have a new experience.

“The horse I was meant to ride for the cup didn’t end up in the field, but hopefully I can have some success in the other races.”
