A man has been charged with high-range drink driving in Moruya on New Year’s Day.
Police said a 31-year-old Kianga man was observed driving a white Holden on the Princes Highway shortly after 2pm when he appeared to skid and stop the vehicle in the middle of the lane.
The man underwent a roadside breath test, which returned a positive reading for alcohol. He was arrested and taken to Moruya police station where he recorded a high-range reading.
The man’s licence was suspended and he will appear at Moruya Local Court on February 10.
Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, a man from Mogo has been charged with drug supply after he was pulled over by police in Malua Bay on New Year’s Eve.
Far South Coast police said they observed a 26-year-old man driving a silver Subaru with no front or rear number plates along Moorong Crescent, Malua Bay shortly before 8pm on January 31.
Police pulled the driver over, searched the vehicle and found small resealable plastic bags, believed to contain MDMA capsules and cannabis, and a drug implement. A search of a male passenger located further MDMA capsules.
A roadside drug test of the driver returned a positive result. The man was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay police station for a second test, with results still pending.
He was charged with drug supply and will appear will appear at Batemans Bay Local Court.
