I hope all you mothers out there had a very happy Mother’s Day, being spoilt by your children... or at least getting a very special phone call from the ones that you could not see on the day.

Tomakin Sports Club was looking good, with the dining room all dressed up for Mother’s Day lunch, and the guys were handing out flowers for all the mums around on the day. That was a lovely thought, guys!
Leanne Bollard of Sunshine Bay is thinking of starting a new tradition in her family of “Bushwalking with Mum on Mother’s Day”. Leanne and her two gorgeous sons, Jack and Tom, climbed Pigeon House Mountain together at the weekend.
Wendy Nash of Catalina had the company of her son and two grandchildren from Canberra for the weekend and they had a lovely time.
Lee Marks from Surf Beach had a few days in Canberra last week, then arrived home in time to take her Mum out for lunch, along with her brother and sister-in-law Terry and Wendy McDonald, also of Surf Beach.
I warned you of an ATO scam doing the rounds last week. Well, guess what, they rang me this week, warning they were going to issue me with a warrant for tax evasion ... and I couldn’t hang up on this one, because it was a recorded message. Be assured the Tax Office does not ring you to tell you this!
Jean Sweet of Surf Beach celebrated a birthday last week. Many happy returns, Jean.
Brenda Dickson of Catalina was looking good when I saw her last week, after returning from a relaxing holiday in Queensland.
Guess who was so excited to receive his passport? He will be joining a mob from Friendship Group on a cruise later this year.
I forgot to mention last week that it was Volunteers Week. Congratulations to all the volunteers out there who make this world a better place by doing their bit. It is very nice to receive a bit of recognition for doing just that. One of the organisations that I volunteer for sent out Certificates of Appreciation, along with an attached tea bag, telling us to take some time out to relax and have a cuppa on them.
