More than $8000 worth of damage has been caused to a church in Moruya following a church break-in last week, police say.

Far South Coast police said offenders broke into churches in Campbell Street and Queen Street, Moruya, in two separate incidents between Thursday, February 23 and Saturday, February 25.
Police said an offender/s broke into the office of the Campbell Street church sometime between 12pm on February 23 and 9am on February 25, and rummaged through the room. It is not known if anything was stolen.
In a separate incident at a Queen Street church, police said more than $8000 worth of damage was caused during a break and enter between 5.30pm on February 24 and 7am on February 25. The offender/s damaged a security panel to gain access to the building and smashed two 100-year-old stained glass windows.
Police are investigating.
