Bega MP Andrew Constance said the $48 million would provide ambulance staff with a dedicated psychologist, physiotherapist and occupational physician, as well as an enhanced insurance scheme with a minimum of five year’s income protection for on-duty claims.
Mr Constance said the funding would ensure paramedics received the support needed to stay healthy and would be supported to get back to work if injured.
“Our paramedics provide an invaluable service to our communities and work tirelessly to help keep us safe and healthy,” Mr Constance said.
“It is important that we do everything we can to help them stay safe and healthy too.”
