A police spokesperson said more than 1000 tickets were issued to drivers not wearing seatbelts and using mobile phones during Operation Compliance 2 on July 12.

Officers from the Far South Coast LAC charged a man with high-range drink driving after a collision in Batemans Bay on Wednesday.

Police said a 62-year-old man was driving a Toyota Hilux along Beach Road at about 1.30pm when he allegedly collided with a Nissan Navara ute.

Both vehicles received minor damage, but police were called to the scene after the driver was suspected to be intoxicated.

Police conducted a roadside breath test, to which the man returned a positive reading for alcohol.

He was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station for a second test, which showed a high-range reading.

The man’s licence was suspended and he is expected to appear in court at a later date.

Meanwhile, in an unrelated incident, police charged a 41-year-old female with drink driving after she was pulled over in Catalina on Wednesday.

Police said the woman was driving a silver Ford Falcon along Beach Road just before 10.30pm when officers stopped her for a breath test.

She returned a positive reading for alcohol and was arrested and taken to Batemans Bay Police Station. She was charged with low-range drink driving and will appear in Batemans Bay Local Court on August 7.

In another unrelated incident, a 32-year-old woman will face court after police alleged she was caught driving while disqualified. 

Police said officers from Highway Patrol stopped the woman on Grantham Road, Batehaven, at about midday on Wednesday.

Officers found the woman was disqualified from driving until 2021. She was charged and will face court at a later date.
