An occupational therapy cooking club teaches primary age children independence, confidence and the basic sequencing skills required when cooking. Children will work both independently and in small groups with Occupational Therapist Heidi Hanes to create two dishes each session.
The program will provide an opportunity for kids to try a range of nutritious foods with different flavours and textures. Cooking is a wonderful way to build concrete skills in areas such speech and language, fine motor skills and attention/concentration. It's also a great chance to participate in a social activity with peers learning important life skills.
Dates: TBC
Venue: Batemans Bay Child and Family Centre, Catalina
Cost: $200 for two sessions (four hours)
Note: NDIS funding can be used; if you are unfunded please call to discuss subsidies.
