Eurobodalla supporters of the late Surf Beach activist’s efforts to raise awareness about the disease and its symptoms will meet on February 24 to celebrate Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month.
They will share a meal at the Soldiers Club, Batemans Bay, but organiser Maggie Wale stressed the event was not about raising funds this time.
Instead, it was a chance for everyone to gather. Guests will meet at noon and pay for their own meals.
“It's not a fund raiser; anyone is welcome to come and just order and pay for their own meal,” Ms Wale said.
Tributes have flowed for Mrs Penberthy since her death in January.
“That was a very nice tribute to her in the Bay Post,” Ms Wale said.
