A safety upgrade on the Kings Highway will delay motorists in February.

Roads and Maritime Services said essential maintenance would begin on the section of highway between Currowan and Nelligen from Tuesday, February 21, 2017.
“Patching work will be carried out to provide a safer road surface on various sections of the highway between Lyons Road at Currowan and Reid Street at Nelligen,” an RMS spokesman said.
Work is scheduled between 7am and 5pm from Tuesday, February 21 to Friday February 24 and Tuesday February 28 and Thursday, March 2, weather permitting.
“For the safety of workers and motorists, traffic control, temporary lane closures and a contra flow will be in place during work hours, with delays of up to five minutes expected,” the spokesman said.
“A temporary reduced speed limit of 40 km/h will also be in place through work sites.
“Motorists should plan their journey and allow for additional travel time.
“Roads and Maritime thanks the community for its patience while work is carried out.
