His faultless acoustic fingerpicking and vocals, which blur the genres of folk, rock and blues, have seen Lang tour the world and cement his place as an Australian face of blue-eyed soul.

Following the launch of his latest album, Alone in Bad Company, Lang will break a 20-year Moruya gig drought and hit the stage for the upcoming Granite Town Festival.

“Having a new album is always a good catalyst for touring,” Lang said.

“I’ve got a fresh batch of songs to add to the setlist, which gives the shows a bit of spark. 

“The South Coast is really beautiful and got a good, unspoilt quality to it, so I’m looking forward to soaking up that vibe.

“I tend to work a bit free form, with no setlist and playing whatever song I feel like doing, giving each gig its own kind of flavour.”

His Granite Town show follows what has been a busy year for the ARIA-winning artist, but it seems audiences won’t have to wait long for their next dose of Lang.

“I’ll be playing a few festival shows as the summer starts and helping some other artists produce albums in Melbourne,” he said. “As for next year, we’ll see what takes shape. There’s a few things in the pipeline.”
