These four ladies have been friends since their school days and it’s the first time in over 50 years that all four of them have been together.
The amazing part of the story is that all four of them have been happily married only once, for over 50 years.
The Batemans Bay Hospital Ladies Auxiliary put on a fund-raising lunch last week at Hanging Rock.
They raised much needed funds for our local hospital, by having a “Soup and Sweets” lunch, with mouth watering soups followed by beautiful cakes and sweets.
The also had a trading table to make a bit more money. The ladies were ably assisted by some of their husbands.
Congratulations must go to the Bay’s Chloe Towney.
Chloe was on Karl Stefanovic’s new show “This time next year” earlier in the week.
Chloe was born with a port wine birthmark right across her face, and went on the show, hoping that ‘this time next year’, she would like to show her face in public.
Well, after 13 very painful laser treatments, a very brave young Chloe appeared on the show as a very confident, beautiful young woman, minus the birthmark, saying she was the happiest she had been in her life.
Well done, Chloe, you really are beautiful, and best wishes for your future.
Lesley Blackwood of Batemans Bay, spent some of last week up in Ulladulla, staying with her daughter and granddaughter, Zali, who have just moved there from Sydney.

They had just arrived in the top end, and on their first evening, were enjoying wine, cheese and biscuits, watching the sun go down, at Nightcliff Beach.
Viv Wheatley is currently overseas, visiting some relatives.

I have been asked if anyone has a copy of the book about the local Bellette family. It is titled “From Chains to Freedom”.
If anyone has a copy that they no longer require, could you please contact the Bay Post, who will pass on the information to me.
