The Rally for Recovery vice-president has been rallying since the medical fundraising group formed 17 years ago, spokeswoman Truda Ward said.
“He was one of our hardest workers; unstoppable in fact,” Mrs Ward said.
“Alan, better known as (Fingers) to his friends will be missed by many and it will not be the same without him.
“We wish Alan well.”
The charity is one of the shire’s most successful fundraisers.
Members have raised another $60,000 for the Randwick Children’s Hospital Research Foundation, whose community fundraising coordinator Connlaith Ni Raifart visited recently.
“All members of the hospital are very grateful of the tremendous work we do; this would not be possible without our community,” Mrs Ward said.
“We also welcome Claudia Quinton, who will take over from Wendy Mattheus as secretary.
“Wendy has worked very hard and is taking an extended holiday.”
