Bega MP Andrew Constance launched the event in the Eurobodalla on Sunday, March 5, at the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club.
Eurobodalla Shire councillor James Thomson and wife Donna were also in attendance.
Group founder Brad Rossiter said there was “plenty of positive and informative discussion had by those there”.
On Friday, March 10, the group’s usual Find Out Friday pop-up at the Bridge Plaza, Batemans Bay, focused on Kidney Health.
“There was plenty of hand-out information available, plus, on the day, community members could have their blood pressure checked for free by the Eurobodalla Renal Outreach nurse Robyn and RN Donna,” Mr Rossiter said.
‘Well done to all who learned more about their kidney health during Kidney Health Week 2017.
“We also wish to thank all who supported this and all our community awareness and education events, along with promotions of these many health issues throughout the year.”
The public is invited to stop by the group’s awareness and education display at the Bridge Plaza every Friday for Find Out Fridays, from 9.30am to 4.30pm.
While there, chat with Brad Rossiter, a kidney and pancreas organ transplant recipient and double leg amputee who is legally blind. Mr Rossiter was named Eurobodalla Shire Citizen of the Year in 2012.
Organ donor registration forms will be available as well as information from Kidney Health Australia and Vision Australia. On display will be Donate Life’s The Book of Life.
