At the February meeting of Bodalla Embroiderers Inc. the president Marilyn Gibson, handed over a cheque for $1000 to members of the hospital auxiliary.
Auxiliary president Lyn Rixon and secretary Kath Smith attended the meeting to receive the generous donation from the embroidery community.
The money was raised from the raffle held in conjunction with the embroidery exhibition held at the Bodalla Hall last October.
Kath spoke about the work of the auxiliary.
Last year they presented $132,000 worth of equipment to the hospital and currently have a wish list amounting to $220,000, which they are working towards in 2017.
Kath explained the high cost of medical equipment – four specialised maternity cots will cost $8500.
She thanked the embroiderers and all community groups who supported them.
The members of the group were very proud of their efforts in 2016 to support such a worthy community asset.
