They all travelled over on the ferry, the Spirit of Tasmania, from Melbourne.
Sue said the highlights for her were the Salamanca markets, Wineglass Bay where they saw lots of whales, seals and dolphins, and the snow on Cradle Mountain which stretched almost over to Queenstown.
Sue reported that the two husbands survived the two Sue’s serious shopping adventures along the way.
Jan McLachlan of Malua Bay has just returned from a couple of weeks visiting her daughter, and beautiful 17-month-old granddaughter who live just out of Darwin.
Jan reported that the locals are currently on a build-up to the approaching wet season, which will be starting in the next month or two.
Denise and Bill Brown of Batemans Bay have also returned from a three-week road trip, which took them up through inland NSW and Queensland as far as Townsville, then a leisurely return trip home by the coast road.
Celeste Charlton celebrated another birthday on Monday. I hope you enjoyed your day Celeste, and had a lovely time.
I attended the second Eurobodalla Health and Wellbeing Expo that was held in the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club on Saturday.
This was another well attended function, with many local groups setting up information tables about their various organisations.
The local Batehaven Tai Chi for Arthritis group put on a demo of their Tai Chi movements, which was well received by the crowd.
Brad Rossiter was MC for the day, and was very busy keeping everything running smoothly.
How many of you are aware that in the Eurobodalla Shire area, we have permanent water conservation measures?
In other words, water restrictions, and we have had since 2013.
The Council recommends no hosing between 10am and 5pm daily, no fixed sprinklers or irrigation systems between those same hours, washing cars, boats, etc to be done with only a bucket and a final rinse off with a hose.
In the event of a lack of rain in the next short while, summer may bring on stricter restrictions, as we are currently drawing on reserves in Deep Creek Dam.
So, we may need to start thinking about doing a rain dance or two.
