Six clubs – Batemans Bay Soldiers Club, Catalina Country Club, Moruya Golf Club, Tomakin Sports & Social Club, Narooma Sporting & Services Club and Narooma Golf Club – shared out a combined total of $302,000 to more than 85 good causes.
Batemans Bay Soldiers Club CEP Paul Biddlestone, speaking on behalf of the clubs, said the funds were distributed via the ClubGRANTS Category One Funding program.
The criteria is specific, so groups should seek advice, however the process of applying was not too arduous.
“The process is quite easy, with many applicants accessing a grant each year,” Mr Biddlestone said.
“These grants are quite specific in their availability to local communities and require the applicant to complete an application form and return to their local club.
“Each grant is assessed for suitability for funding by the local committee before they are presented to each club board for approval and funding.
“The local grants are officially open in February, however in cases of emergency, individual clubs may provide funds at any time.
“The clubs are always on the lookout for local recipients that meet the criteria, and I suggest you contact your club manager for assistance in setting up your application,” Mr Biddlestone said.
Applicants could also visit the ClubsNSW website and follow the links or visit www.clubsnsw.com.au/community/clubgrants/for-applicants.
