An encounter with fuel and lighter led to a fire breaking out in a shed in the backyard of a residential property on South Head Road, Moruya, just after 4.30pm on March 29.
Moruya Fire and Rescue Deputy Captain Rodney Phillips said nine crew members were called to extinguish the fire just in time.
“It was very lucky. The owners put some water on the fire to prevent it from spreading and we extinguished it,” Mr Phillips said.
Mr Phillips said the incident served as a reminder to parents to supervise their children and ensure they did not play with fire.
He said there was no structural damage to the shed.
