St Peter’s Anglican College’s latest production, 100 Years of Music in 100 Minutes, will take the audiences on a unique musical journey for two special shows next week.
Musical director John Fraser said the biennial performance would bring together the musical talents of students from junior school right up to year 12.
“We’re using the talent we’ve got at the school to tell a decade-by decade-story, which looks at some of the key musical moments of the past 100 years,” Mr Fraser said.
Students will embark on a time-travelling adventure, bringing to life ragtime and early blues music, through to jazz, rock and roll, disco, grunge and modern pop.

“We try to make connections between the different styles to show that you can trace much of what the kids are listening to today back to the blues of the 1920s,” he said.
Mr Fraser said the show would feature several guest appearances and the work of college alumnus Tom Walsh as lighting director.
One of the show’s stars, Olivia Faletoese, year 12, was feeling bittersweet about her final production.
“When it comes to the big night, we’ll be nervous and excited that everyone’s come to see this show we’ve worked so hard on,” she said.
