The girls played three preliminary games beating Braidwood 29-0, then losing to a strong Narooma team 22-10 and then winning the last prelim game against Far South Coast(Bega) 15-0.
The captain Bonnie Brewer praised the new players Georgia Norman and Christina Bruce for their strong games and the way they began to pick up the rugby game. Christina scored 2 fine tries and made some strong tackle-breaking runs, one of them in the final play-off for first and second.
Sarah Shooks and Roxy Horne scored a host of tries and showed what true rugby potential they both have. Alana Gallen was devastating in defence and Bonnie Brewer’s distribution and attacking skills, together with pivot Leila Patyus were essential in all aspects of the day.
In the final, the team were without the netballers, so Braidwood lent them four players which was great. They went down valiantly 22-10 again in a very spirited and worthwhile game, running 2nd and staying in strong contention points-wise for the Series.
