“Due to the recent success of the Facebook page “History of Batemans Bay and Districts Past & Present” and frequent requests from its members, a reunion of the town and districts has been planned and a date has been claimed,” a spokesperson for the group said.
They have picked Saturday, May 6 for the big event at the Batemans Bay Soldiers Club.
The event starts at 6pm for dinner at 7pm and guests should check the Facebook page for further details.
“Sunday will bring a recovery picnic day at Korners Park, on the Clyde River, by the bridge at 10am,” the group said.
“Just come along with your chairs and picnic and continue where you left off the night before.
“This is an invitation to all long time locals and newly adopted locals from here and surrounding districts.
“Many descendants from pioneering families remain here in our community.
“Come and meet them and celebrate friendships and catch ups.
“There will be many stories and a whole lot of laughter, but most of all we will have a great reunion.”
