A man who raided a supermarket cosmetics and toiletries aisle, filling a trolley with more than $2000 worth of goods, has been jailed for up to 18 months.

Mark Pallister, 35, of the Eurobodalla, pleaded guilty to one count of larceny after he was captured on CCTV cameras raiding the shelves of Woolworths Batemans Bay on August 30.
He appeared via audio-visual link in Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday, October 16.
Police said Pallister and an alleged accomplice stocked a trolley with $2151 worth of products, including men’s body wash, condoms and cosmetic face masks, before leaving the store without paying.
In facts tendered to the court, police said footage showed an alleged accomplice standing watch at the front entrance of the store where there were no staff or checkouts. He then left the store, followed by Pallister pushing a loaded trolley.

Police said a witness saw the pair load the items into the boot of a black Holden hatchback and reported the incident.
Pallister was arrested in Batehaven on October 5 and told police he had no part in the offence.
Defence solicitor Lisa Stone told the court of Pallister’s struggle with kleptomania and substance abuse before his sentencing in Batemans Bay Local Court on Monday.
Magistrate Doug Dick found special circumstances on the basis of drug and alcohol issues before sentencing Pallister to 18 months’ imprisonment, with a non-parole period of nine months.
He was ordered to undergo intensive drug and alcohol treatment.
