For his first time, Four Winds artistic director and classical accordionist James Crabb’s curated the concert at the venue. It was also the first official performance using the Shegeru Kawai semi-concert grand piano, played by Piers Lane.
They were joined by violinist and concert master for the Sydney Symphony Orchestra Andrew Haveron for a program of Beethoven, Franck and Schubert.
Four Winds executive director David Francis said the organisation had also received a dollar-for-dollar funding grant from Creative Partnerships Australia. Their target of $55,000 will fund new commissions for Windsong in 2018, and an ‘artist in residence’ program.
