A Roads and Maritime Services spokesperson outlined work due between now and June on the $274 million project
"Between April and June, major work will include piling and building piers to form the foundation of the new bridge, completing a temporary boat ramp at Korners Park and construction jetty south-west of the existing bridge, and ongoing removal of vegetation and trees in the project area," the spokesperson said.
"Teams will also complete a new construction facility south of Mogo that will be used throughout the project to manufacture concrete segments of the new bridge.
"There will be changes in traffic conditions on the Princes Highway, between the Kings Highway and North Street, as this work is carried out and the community will be informed before these occur."
RMS said, from early May, the car park and boat ramp on the south-west of the existing bridge will be closed to make way for a construction area and temporary jetty for the duration of major work.
"This closure will only occur when a temporary boat ramp has been complete at Korners Park to maintain access to the river for boat users," the service said.
"A temporary jetty will be built on this site and extended into the river to be used to safely move materials on to large barges and cranes the river.
"This area will also be used to start land-based piling work from May to form the first foundation of the new bridge.
"Temporary public toilets and disabled parking facilities have opened next to the construction area to allow the project team to prepare this area for major work.
"For the safety of workers and river users, a marine exclusion zone will also be in place from early May.
"The community and nearby residents will be provided more information before these activities start, including work times and impacts.
"The community is thanked for its patience as this important work is carried out.
"Roads and Maritime looks forward to working with local residents to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.
