We also had 13 first timers to the Batemans Bay course.
Our highlight this week was hosting Canberra visitor Denice Garbutt who was celebrating her 60th parkun on her 70th birthday.
Denice was very happy to be enjoying her first parkrun in her new age category and finished in a commendable time of 47:36. Denice is a frequent visitor to the area so hopefully we’ll see her again soon.
A special mention to Anthony Kennedy who celebrated his 50th parkrun by being first over the line in a great time of 18:14.
This week’s event also saw a number of cute canine participants. Dogs are very welcome at Batemans Bay parkrun provided they are well controlled, on a short lead, and there is only one dog per parkrunner.
Each week’s parkrun is made possible by our fantastic volunteers – a big thank you to Anna Hutchinson, Garran Carnall, Kylie Young, Rob Ryan, Robyn Kennedy, Tania Dorney and Yma Carnall.
All runners and walkers are welcome to join us on the five-kilometre course. We meet every Saturday morning at 7.50am for the 8am race start.
You can register online at www.parkrun.com.au to obtain a barcode which you must bring along with you every week to get a recorded result.
The venue is Rotary Park near the Marina roundabout in Batemans Bay.
