Robbie Law, mayoral candidate for the Better way for Batemans Bay team, said that he had four signs “pinched” from around his home suburb of Long Beach.
This follows the disappearance of as many as 40 campaign signs for the team of Mayor Lindsay Brown during the week.
“I noticed they were gone yesterday,” Mr Law said on Saturday.
“I haven’t been to Nelligen or all over the shire, so I don’t know if others have been taken.
“It is only four, but they are $20 each.
“It’s wrong, I reckon.”
Meanwhile, Cr Brown said between 30 and 40 of his signs had been taken during the week, costing him up to $800.
“They were up on Tuesday and gone by Thursday,” he said.
“They have been taken from people’s property.”
He said the matter had been reported to police.
“I had hoped the campaign wouldn’t get like this,” he said.
