Yumaro Industries was named the best business in the shire, winning the Excellence in Business award at the Eurobodalla Business Awards gala ceremony on Friday night.

A provider of employment for people with a disability, Yumaro also won the Excellence in Accessibility award.
The winners in all eight categories were announced at the inaugural Eurobodalla Business Awards at the Moruya Golf Club and 36 businesses and business people from across the Eurobodalla were competing for the top honours.
The hotly contested Excellence in Small or Home-based Business was won by Tilba Real Dairy.
Local Chamber of the Year Award went to the Moruya Chamber of Commerce, while the Young Entrepreneur award was won by Kendall Layt of Kokoh Bikini, who accepted the award on a video recording as she currently in Rio, Brazil.
The Business Leader award went to Steve Picton of Illawarra Schools Workplace Learning Program.
The Excellence in Sustainability award went to Hatsavvy of Narooma, and the Excellence in Export award went to Edgewater Gardens.
Over 70 entries were received in the eight categories, with the Excellence in Small or Home Based Business the most hotly contested category.
Eurobodalla’s five chambers of commerce and council’s business development team worked together to get the shire-wide awards up and running for the first time in 2016.
The awards are endorsed by the NSW Business Chamber and the winners in most local categories will progress to the regional awards.
Yumaro is a provider of employment for people with a disability in the Eurobodalla and Shoalhaven regions.
Established in 1984, the organisation has been a pioneer in the development of employment services to people with disabilities with services being provided from three different sites spread strategically throughout the South Coast.
With close to 140 service recipients, and many opportunities for progression in their personal and working lives, Yumaro is a proud contributor to the local community and the disability sector.
