Evangelist, missionary and worship leader Deb Stanley will be featured speaker.
“Deb runs Soul Survivor, a cross-denominational youth movement in the ACT and surrounding regions with a strong focus on missions and outreach,” Batemans Bay Anglican minister Reverend Colin Walters said.
“Last year she held an outreach with us and Bay Life church in Batemans Bay and 70 kids came.
“With the others she was helping with weeding, gardening, painting and cooking at (emergency accommodation facility) Hope Place and did some ground work at Batemans Bay High School.”
The Living Waters festival is in its seventh year and people are expected to come from Canberra, the South Coast and even Sydney.
“Last year we had someone from San Francisco,” Reverend Walters said.
The theme of Living Waters 16 is “His breath received” from the book of John in the Bible.
“The theme was chosen by Deb, and it will be about identifying your spiritual gifts, and being used by God in your community,” Reverend Walters said.
Southlands in Batemans Bay, the Ulladulla Highway Church and Ulladulla Anglican Church are joining the Batemans Bay Anglican Church in running the conference.
“The beauty of it is the way the churches work together to make it happen,” Reverend Walters said.
Reverend Walters is hoping to see a repeat of the success of the Spirit Conference in April.
“We had a 94-year-old man who couldn’t swallow properly, but by the end of the conference he could,” he said.
The conference is on at the Batemans Bay Anglican Church in Herarde Street, on Friday, August 19 and Saturday, August 20.
The cost is $80, which includes meals.
