The 20-year-old will take on Alex Gorgees in the 155lb weight class as part of the Urban Fight Night at the Whitlam Leisure Centre on August 27.
He has flown over to Thailand to prepare for the bout, where his daily training regime consists of two hours of wrestling, two hours of Jiu Jitsu, and two hours of stand up training.
It is not the first time Blake has featured in a title fight, with his first chance coming in Florida last year.
Blake’s father, Bill Donnelly, said a mishap with his scheduled opponent lead to Blake being afforded a greater opportunity.
“At the weigh in, the guy he was meant to fight got injured, so he was a bit disappointed that he had put in all that hard work at training,” he said.
“There was a title fight that night in the same weight division where one of the fighters also got injured, so the promoter asked Blake if he wanted to fight for the title.
“We were told a few details about the guy including that he was released from prison six months ago so, as a father, I was a bit concerned, but Blake ended up winning the belt.”
He may be yet to turn 21, but Blake has been involved in martial arts for the past decade.
After starting kick boxing at age 11, Blake moved onto boxing, before eventually settling into M.M.A.
Central to his development as a fighter has been the Jungle Gym Training Camp near Barlings Beach, where he has been training since he was 14.
Trainer, Richard Fafie said Blake’s mental approach is part of what makes him such a strong fighter.
“The way he conducts himself sets a good example,” he said.
“I train a few kids that are his age and I enjoy watching them develop.
“Blake’s attitude has always impressed me.
“He is very dedicated in his training, but is also a genuinely nice guy.”
Blake is scheduled to arrive back in Australia on August 20.
